This is such a wonderful book about a family’s expertise with adoption. At the heart of it is the message that God provides just what (or who) we need just when it’s right for us. The beautiful artwork perfectly compliments this touching story of family.

This story about the author’s family and their journey in the adoption process is precious. Taken from the viewpoint of the siblings, each one shares what they hope their adopted brother or sister will be like. The parents repeat that they are ok with whomever it may be. This faith-filled journey will encourage any adoption-seeking family. And the illustrations are beautiful!

From the moment “Dad” says “We need to keep our faith because God has a plan,” and son Calvin giggles, “What is faith, and where do we keep it?” I was like – BAM – I am in this book. 🙂 It was a very clever idea, clever word play, and this conceit and motif continues throughout the book for a fun, engaging read. I found myself reading in the voices of the children without even thinking about it. The repetition/wordplay/imagining of finding where Faith is kept from page to page, and seeing how the children look forward to her, makes this a great read-aloud and one that kids keep coming back for.

What a lovely book to teach children about adoption, what kids may interpret that as & what it means, and how to have faith. It brings you to the reality of all the innocent and inquisitive questions children may ask prior to meeting their new family member and how a parent can go about explaining the process. This is a nice informative book for families that are looking to adopt or may have friends that have been adopted. I also liked the clarification of the words adoption and fostering and the statistics of adopted children out there. One take away from this is that there are so many children out there that need loving homes and this is a nice book to show what a family went through to get their baby Faith. Beautiful real life story!
