This is a fantastic story with adorable illustrations. Yes, we need giving hearts that are willing to share. However, we do not need to be so generous that we have to rely on charity to meet our own needs. I had a friend once who had gone on a trip. When she got home, she learned that the church had taken food donations for some reason. Her husband had literally given away every food item in their pantry! This family wasn’t well off, and she couldn’t just go out and restock the pantry. Like Ms. Hare in this story, they had giving hearts that forgot about themselves completely.

A fun well-written story with very good illustrations. The message of this story is wonderful for children and adults alike.A good discussion story for a teacher in a classroom or for a mother with her family.

This is a lovely story that teaches some important lessons about the importance of balancing giving and self-care – in a very cute way. I love the note at the end that encourages children to support products that do not harm animals.

If you like “The Giving Tree”, you will love this story. A great way of teaching children (and adults) to know and respect their limits.

My daughters (ages 4 &7) love this story about generosity, self-care and friends coming together to help a loved one. Becky wrote it in a way that’s very entertaining and flows well throughout. It’s a sweet story with messages that are easy to grasp for children, paired with fun illustrations. Another great one by Becky Cummings!

I loved the story and the messages about not only caring for others, but also the need to care for oneself. The illustrations are fun and engaging. A great story for children and even adults. Fun book. A great addition to your book collection.
