We are vegetarian and always struggle around Thanksgiving with our son hearing people talk about eating turkey. He is still young and so we don’t want to go into a lot of detail, but still want him to understand why we choose not to have turkey on the table. This was an awesome book to be able to have a compassionate discussion with him about Thanksgiving. A gem of a find for our family!

The cutest, vegan friendly thanksgiving story! I had to break the news to my vegan since birth 5 year old this year that many people eat turkeys on thanksgiving. She was so freaked out. Reading her this book afterwards was such a nice relief, because she was able to see that there are other people out there like us who would prefer to entertain a turkey rather than eat it 🙂 Super cute short story with a happy ending.

Cute Thanksgiving story about Mr. Wobble the turkey who farmer Joe invites to Thanksgiving dinner. Mr. Wobble prepares most carefully that week with his grooming, the singing and talking, and his manners. And finally the big day is here.I was so afraid for Mr. Wobble that I wanted to yell at him to run away but a surprise awaits us all. What an enjoyable story and a new way to see the Thanksgiving feast. Perfect for your 3-6 year old.

I’m thrilled to finally get to read a Thanksgiving book to my kids that doesn’t involve EATING the turkey! This book is super cute, and has amazing illustrations!! I wish the main dish was a bit more “on-point” for a typical thanksgiving tradition meal, but otherwise everything was perfect. 5-stars for sure!!

This book is about a turkey that is invited to the farmer’s house for Thanksgiving dinner. All along you suspect that the turkey will be the dinner, but the book tricks you at the end. This story is well written and nicely illustrated. Kids and parents will enjoy the surprise, especially if you espouse the vegan agenda. Recommended for children ages five to ten.
